Tips for your first class

  • Wear one pair of thin socks.
  • Helmets and gloves are highly recommended. Helmets are required for all Preschool classes, Youth Ice Skating 1, Tweens and Teens Ice Skating 1, and Adult Ice Skating 1 classes. Bike helmets are fine. Helmets are recommended for all other levels.
  • Arrive at the rink 15 minutes early for your lesson, and early for subsequent classes so you have plenty of time to get skates and gear on before class starts.
  • Ask for skates that are size smaller than your shoe size.
  • For an immediate answer to a basic group skating class question, please call the rink at 301-905-3000 to speak to someone at the front desk. You may also email the Skating Director.
  • Register online at Active Montgomery.
