Wheaton Ice Arena – Private Lessons
Private Lessons
Wheaton Ice Arena has many coaches who offer private and semi-private lessons. Only coaches who have contracts with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Montgomery Parks may teach private lessons here. Private instructor fees are paid directly to the instructor. Skaters will also need to pay for admission/ice time and skate rental (if needed) before the private lesson. Private lessons are for 1-2 skaters only. Bigger groups will need to contact the Skating Director to set up a custom group class.

Please take the following steps and contact instructors directly to schedule a lesson:
- Contact one of our instructors to arrange for a private lesson time.
- Agree on a lesson time with the instructor considering your personal calendar and the instructor’s availability.
- If needed, pre-register for ice time (public skating, freestyle session, Stick ‘n puck session) in Active Montgomery or plan to pay at the rink before skating.
- Be sure to set up a meeting spot with your instructor for your first lesson.
