Is your child interested in ice skating? What better way to explore their new interest than an ice skating than a special skate day, a day camp, or a skating clinic!
Fairy Tale and Superhero Skates
Join us at the rink for a special skating event for children ages 4-9. Come dressed as your favorite princess, super hero, or other characters for a fun morning at the rink. We’ll start off with a story and craft activity and then gear up for a skating lesson. After the lesson skaters may have some practice time and can revisit the play area off ice for another craft. No skating experience necessary. Helmets (bike helmets are fine) and gloves are required. $20 fee includes all activities and the skate rental. Parent may skate with child but is not required to skate.
Not so Spooky Skate
Wear your costumes and celebrate Halloween at Wheaton Ice Arena! Starting at 5:30pm, we will have public skating (including a costume parade) as well as Halloween crafts and treats set up in our party rooms. Skaters under the age of 6 should have a parent participate in the public skating and craft portion of the program. Please register the child only.
Wheaton Ice Kid’s Club
Wheaton Ice Kid’s Club will meet on the second Thursday of each month from 9:30 -11:00 am. Children will have supervised skating time with instruction for an hour followed by story, crafts, and games after. No skating experience necessary. It’s a great way to introduce young children to skating and get them comfortable at the rink and wearing ice skates. Parents should plan to stay at the facility and may participate in any activities (register only the child). $15 fee includes all activities and skate rental.
School’s out Skate Day
No school? No problem! On many of the days Montgomery County Public Schools are off School’s Out Skate Days are on! Bring your kids (ages 6-12) for a Skate Day full of supervised activities. The day includes a group ice skating lesson, practice skating time, arts & crafts, and fun games. Skaters will need to pack a lunch will be emailed camp forms prior to the skate day.
