- Find a new playground: Are the little ones tired of visiting the same local playground? Visit a new playground including the recently renovated playgrounds at Olney Manor Recreation Park, Caroline Freeland Urban Park, Centerway Local Park , Glen Hills Local Park, Hillandale Local Park, and more.
- Play sports: Basketball, soccer, kickball, tag, or even fly a kite in your favorite park.
- Hike a trail: There are more than 260 miles of trails waiting to be explored.

- Paddle across Little Seneca Lake or Lake Needwood: Rent a pedal boat, canoe, or kayak. Take a learn to kayak class!
- Fish under the stars: Night fishing is offered at Black Hill Regional Park once a month.
- Spin on brand new Wheaton Carousel: Visit Wheaton Regional Park.
- Tour Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park: Learn about the roadside community who lived there.
- Walk amid beautiful blooms: Visit Brookside Gardens or McCrillis Gardens.
- Beat the heat: Go ice skating at Cabin John Ice Rink.
- Climb aboard for a scenic miniature train ride: Visit Wheaton Regional Park or Cabin John Regional Park.
- Experience a one-room schoolhouse from the 1890s: Visit Kingsley Schoolhouse.

- Disability Pride Outside: Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with adaptive outdoor activities like kayaking, pontoon boat rides, fishing, birding, hiking, and mountain biking at Black Hill Regional Park on July 26.
- Trail Trekkers: Join a guided hike at Wheaton Regional Park.
- Laugh out loud: join us for the All-Star Comedy Show on August 15 in Cabin John Regional Park.
- Guided Hike – Underground Railroad Experience Trail: Learn about history on a guided hike at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park.
- Archeology Tour: Explore the Josiah Henson Museum and Park to learn about the features and artifacts that inform our understanding of Rev. Josiah Henson’s life at the Riley Plantation.
