Montgomery Parks announces Thanksgiving Day weekend operating hours and programs

WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks announces programming and operating hours for the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend, Thursday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025.  Give thanks by spending time with family and friends at Montgomery Parks!

Open Parkways schedule

The Open Parkways will be on its normal fall/winter schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

*Please note: Gate closures are intended to be completed by the times listed above. The re-opening of the parkways begins at the times listed above. However, this process may take up to 30 minutes to complete.

Additional facilities open during the holiday weekend include

Open Friday, Nov. 28 – Sunday, Nov. 30:

Parkstrails, gardens, nature center trails and outdoor nature play areas (Locust Grove Nature Center’s Nature Exploration area only open during facility hours on Saturday and Sunday), playgroundsdog parks, skate parksoutdoor exercise stations, and outdoor tennis/pickleball and basketball courts* are open daily, sunrise to sunset. (*Select outdoor courts are available for rental.)  

Open Saturday, Nov. 29 – Sunday, Nov. 30:
