Learn about the experience of 19th century freedom seekers and Montgomery County residents. Discover techniques used for navigation, eluding detection, and finding food/shelter. Hike is 2 miles roundtrip on a natural surface hiking trail. Visit to the Woodlawn Museum is included.

Restrooms, Visitor Center and Museum are available during operating hours April – November or for groups with advance reservation.

Guided hikes are appropriate for ages 7 and up due to interpretive content and program length. Fee charged for ages 6 and up.
Minimum 15 paid admissions the day of your tour is required for all guided hikes/tours.
Payment is due in one lump sum the day of your tour.

Educational field trips: 1 adult teacher/chaperone admitted free per 15 paid student admissions, bus drivers are admitted free.
All other groups: Group leader and bus driver are admitted free.
Free bus parking and 50+ spaces available for cars. Parking may be limited on weekends in the spring and fall.
Picnic tables available on a first come, first serve basis. No indoor dining space or food service is available. Area restaurant and boxed lunch options are available upon request. Gift shop offers a selection of packaged snacks and tour related books and souvenirs.
