Friends of Brookside Gardens (FOBG) was established in 1996 by a handful of enthusiastic gardening experts who were passionate about Brookside Gardens. FOBG has grown to be a vibrant volunteer-led, independent non-profit organization with nearly 1,000 members. Fundraising activities, including membership dues, plant sales, silent auctions and donations, have raised more than $1.2 million to support garden plantings, educational programs, seasonal staff and implementation of the Brookside Gardens Master Plan. FOBG serves as an advocate for Brookside Gardens’ initiatives, providing testimony at budget hearings by the Montgomery County Planning Board, the County Executive and the County Council.
