Private Caterers may be allowed with prior approval from Montgomery Parks. If they are preparing or serving food onsite, a Current food license from Montgomery County Health and Human Services Department as well as a Certificate of Liability Insurance listing M-NCPPC, 2425 Reedie Drive, Wheaton, MD 20902, as a secondary insured on the certificate in the amounts of $1,000,000 per accident/$500,000 per person is required from the caterer.
Private food trucks are allowed with prior approval from Montgomery Parks. These private vendors may only provide food to your party. Any walk-up customers are strictly prohibited and may result in a citation from Park Police.
Permit holders may use the Park provided charcoal grills or bring their own portable charcoal grill. No gas grills, wood burning fires or sternos chafing fuel are permitted on park property. Use of outside cooking items (pots, slow cookers, hot plates, etc.) is at permit holders’ discretion. Refunds will not be given for loss of time if a power outage occurs.
For Activity Buildings – All private rentals are allowed to hire a private caterer who will be delivering and serving food only. Cooking onsite is strictly prohibited. Private caterers can use the warming oven that is provided onsite at all Activity Buildings except Mayor Jayne H. Plank Kensington Cabin.
For Picnic Shelters – Private Catering is allowed at the large shelters at Black Hill, Damascus, and Ovid Hazen Wells as well as Shelters A and B at South Germantown. Please note the availability of electricity at the shelter you reserve.
