Beginning the week of November 17, 2025, Long Branch–Garland Neighborhood Park and the Long Branch Trail Bridge at Domer Avenue will be closed for construction and are scheduled to reopen in fall 2026. The renovated park will feature new walkways and a widened bridge with lighting, a multi-level playground, a fitness area, an additional shelter, a multi-sports court with fencing, an urban plaza, and improved lighting. Access to the picnic shelter on the north side of the park will remain available.
The Long Branch Trail adjacent to both sides of the bridge at Domer Avenue will also be closed. Pedestrians and bicyclists looking to cross Long Branch should consider using the Piney Branch Road sidewalk or the Long Branch Trail bridge at Clayborn Avenue. For families and students reaching to Rolling Terrace Elementary School, please proceed south on Garland Avenue to access the pedestrian bridge at Clayborn Avenue. Please use caution around the work area.
