Enjoy Nature at Black Hill
Black Hill Regional Park has more than 2,000 acres of land for outdoor recreation and family gatherings. Come enjoy spectacular views of Little Seneca Lake from the many picnic shelters, volleyball courts, playgrounds, and trails. Or rent a canoe, kayak, or rowboat from Black Hill Boats and explore the natural beauty of the lake by following the Black Hill Water Trail.
Little Bennett Campground is only five miles away, where visitors can enjoy a peaceful camping experience in a wooded setting.
Black Hill Discovery Center
Want to learn about the area’s diverse ecosystems? Be sure to discover the variety of nature programs and interpretive tours through the Discovery Center that highlight the natural and historical resources of this beautiful park and surrounding Montgomery County. You can also spend an afternoon fishing for largemouth bass, catfish, bluegill, and crappie off of the fishing pier.
Picnic Shelters
Pack a picnic and bring your family, friends, co-workers, or group to Black Hill Regional Park! You’ll be surrounded by nature and close to park features like playgrounds, Little Seneca Lake, boating, trails, a nature center, and more!
Facilities available to rent include:
- Large Picnic Shelters (Shelters A, B, C, I, and J) and
- Small Picnic Shelters (Shelters D, E, F, G, and H).
The five large picnic shelters can accommodate up to 100 people. Each shelter includes 10 picnic tables and two grills. Catering is permitted at large picnic shelters. Shelter C has electricity available for an additional $30 fee.
The five small picnic shelters can accommodate up to 40 people. Each shelter includes four picnic tables and one grill.
Shelters can be reserved through our Park Permits Office or online through ActiveMONTGOMERY.
Trails
There are over 20 miles of hard and natural surface trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. This trail includes a fitness station.
Dog Park
Let your pup off the leash at this half-acre dog park featuring trees and picnic tables in Black Hill Regional Park! Your dog will love getting exercise and running around with new furry friends.
Unless otherwise posted, the facility is open for use from sunrise to sunset.
Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park. All dogs must be current on all vaccinations as required by state or local law. There is no fee to use Montgomery Parks’ Dog Parks and dog permits are not required.
