A children’s story time for little bookworms at 10 am and 11 am, by Author Joan Waites
Enjoy live acoustic music from Jennifer Schimpf to set a peaceful, easygoing vibe
Sip coffee and enjoy pastries available from Travelin’ Tom’s and Praline Bakery

Wonderland Books – browse and buy new titles including bestsellers, local authors, kids’ books, and more

Montgomery County Public Library – book-based programming, activities, and library card sign-ups

Bring a favorite read, spread out a blanket, sip something warm, and settle in for a relaxing start to your day in the park. Whether you stay for a single chapter or the whole morning, Prose in the Park is all about making space to pause and enjoy nature, books, and good music all at your own pace.

Cost:

This event is free to attend and registration is not required. Food and drink for purchase.

Parking:

Parking is available off Tuckerman Ln, located by the playground and amphitheater (7400 Tuckerman Ln, Bethesda, MD 20817). Please note that the parking lot off Westlake Drive near the dog park will be under construction.

Restrooms:

On-site restroom facilities will be available and are a short walk from the amphitheater.

Accessibility:

Cabin John Regional Park is Generally Accessible in accordance with the 2010 Standard ADA Guidelines.

Pets:

Pets are allowed at the event but must be kept on a leash while on park property. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and disposing of waste in the proper receptacles.

What to Bring:

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, lawn chair, snacks, and a water bottle. There is some shade at the amphitheater and guests are encouraged to wear UV-protective accessories.

Weather:

If this event is cancelled due to inclement weather, there will not be a rain date.
