WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks will close its bike parks for the winter season to protect the trails and prevent user injuries from features that may freeze and become slippery. Beginning Friday, December 12th, Wheaton Gravity Park, The Pit at Fairland Bike Park, and the South Germantown Bike Park will be closed to riders until the ground is consistently dry and stable in mid-March. Announcements, including social media updates, will be shared in the spring when the bike parks open again.
Montgomery Parks boasts over 230 miles of year-round biking trails, including more than 160 miles of natural surface trails and more than 75 miles of paved trails. During inclement weather, people should check Montgomery Parks’ Rainout Line in advance to ensure trails are open.
