Celebrating African Rhythms through Dance & Song


Join us for a free dance workshop featuring the vibrant African rhythms from West Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Americas with the brilliant Martha Peterson and her amazing crew of dancers, percussionists, and storytellers! Enjoy tours of the historic 19th-century log cabin. Bring the family for a day of fun!

Parking for the event will be at Reddy Branch Stream Valley Park, located at 19801 Georgia Avenue, Brookeville, MD 20833. An accessible shuttle will run between the Cabin and the parking lot throughout the event.

Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park is open on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays, from 12 pm – 4 pm, April through October.
