History Hour: Crafting History - African Fabric

This lecture series features local historians, educators and more who will share their knowledge of local and regional history.

In this presentation, Tisha Thorne, textile artist, founder of Tisha’s Sewing Studio, and the owner and co-founder of Sew Creative Lounge, will take us on a journey through the vast world of African fabrics. From their production and symbolism to the way they look and feel, we’ll explore these textiles in their historical and modern forms. Sew Creative Lounge will have fabric available for purchase.

Arrive early and take a self-guided tour of the museum; doors open at 3 pm. Light refreshments provided.
