Where Wit Meets Wisdom — Join the Fun Outdoors!

For Active Aging Week, Montgomery Parks is bringing a free outdoor comedy special to South Germantown Recreational Park behind the Mooseum. Geared toward audience members ages 55 and better, Better with Age Comedy Special is a specially curated show by Silver Spring’s Improbable Comedy. Bring your friends and loved ones out to South Germantown on Wednesday, October 8 from 12 to 2 pm to enjoy an afternoon getaway full of laughs on the lawn.

What to expect: 

  • 12 pm – Arrive early to take in the beautiful scenery. Grab a bite to eat from local food vendor Catalyst Hot Dogs who will be serving up lunchtime treats for purchase.
  • 12:30 pm – Get settled in your seats and enjoy a curated 90-minute comedy show where comedians will cover topics about the trials and tribulations that come with aging, family, friendships, relationships, and more! 

This is a free, outdoor event. Registration is not required—some chair seating to be provided by Montgomery Parks.  

This show is intended for mature audiences ages 17 and up and is not recommended for viewers under seventeen. Viewer discretion is advised.  

Sign language interpretation will be provided by Montgomery Park’s Program Access

Comedian Line-Up

Stacey Axler has been performing regularly since 2021, at shows and clubs throughout DC and
Maryland. Stacey has performed in comedy festivals such as the North Carolina Comedy
Festival, Solocom in NYC and the Sixth City Comedy Festival. Stacey also hosts a monthly
standup show.

Benny Nwokeabia @realbennyy

Born in Washington DC Benny is half Nigerian half Ethiopian but grew up overseas in Geneva, Switzerland. He has performed in NYC (Broadway comedy club, Stand NY, Greenwich and others), DC (DC Improv, Comedy Loft, HotBed, Drafthouse and others) as well as internationally in Switzerland, Mexico and Canada (Zoo Fest, Just for Laughs). He has opened for acts such as Matt Rife, Martin Amini, Nate Jackson, Tony Woods, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Felonious Munk as well as others. Most recently auditioned in Montreal to be featured on Just For Laughs New Faces. He was named runner up in the Magoobys 2022 Comedian of the year competition and was named Winner of the DC Improv’s Comedy Kumite competition.

He also produces his own monthly show at the DC Comedy loft named “Applause break” where he showcases himself as well as some of the DMV’s best comedic talents.

Brock Snyder @4cornersentertainment

Brock Snyder is a DC based standup comedian and show producer. Brock also is the founder of 4 Corners Entertainment.

Miss Chocolate @misschocolatecomedy

Beverly White known to the masses as Miss Chocolate is that seasoned comedian, actor and producer, and spoken word artist that you never knew you needed. She has performed up and down the east coast; from DC to New York, from Baltimore to Philly, and from Atlanta to Memphis; from sea to shining sea. She has performed at The Kennedy Center, The Laugh Factory, The Queer Comedy Festival, The Story District LGBTQIA Out/Spoken Festival at the 9:30 Club; and numerous clubs such as New York’s The Broadway Comedy Club and The Greenwich Comedy Club. She was awarded the 2021 Best of Washington Alice Award for Female Comedian of the Year.  She was featured in The Washington Blade QUEERY feature, and The METROWEEKLY. She has hosted and produced many shows in the DMV such as The Historic Takoma Station in Washington, DC and at The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) with the ASK RAYCEEN Production Team.

Robert Mac @robertmac.comedy

Robert Mac is a comedy veteran with over three decades of experience in comedy clubs, boardrooms, cruise ships, and festivals around the world.
His act is smart, delightful, and original. If you prefer brainy, dead-pan comedy over brain-dead, pandering comedy, check out his nerdy brand of clean, playful humor. He’s got so many jokes, it’s not even funny!

  • This event is free to attend. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site.

Parking:

  • Parking is available by the Mooseum (18028 Central Park Circle, Boyds, Maryland 20841). There will be a shuttle cart to shuttle attendees from the parking lot to the event space.

Public Transportation:

  • The nearest bus stop to South Germantown Recreational Park is Central Park Circle & Central Park Circle. This stop is served by Ride On Route 98, which operates Monday through Saturday.
  • From this stop, the Mooseum is approximately a 5-minute walk. The park’s main entrance is located at 18041 Central Park Circle, Boyds, MD 20841

Seating:

  • Limited seating will be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and picnic blankets for seating at this event.

What to Bring:

  • This event will take place in full sun, there is limited shade. Guests should come prepared by wearing sunscreen, bringing a hat or head covering, and bringing their own water.

Restrooms:

  • ADA porta johns will be onsite. There are no indoor restroom facilities.
