Laugh Out Proud: Pride Comedy Night at Brookside Gardens!
Kick off Pride Month with big laughs, great friends, and a night of unforgettable comedy!

Montgomery Parks is getting a rainbow makeover and hosting a night of comedy featuring the talented lineup of LGBTQIA+ comedians from Improbable Comedy. Get ready to laugh as they provide hilarious insights on relationships, family, love, and life.
Join us on Wednesday, June 4, on the beautiful lawn of Brookside Gardens, located next to the Visitor Center. Check out the comedian line-up below.
Here’s what’s in store:
- 6 pm – Arrive early to purchase delicious food from Lavish Savory Food Truck, Silver & Sons BBQ, and drinks from Denizens Brewing Co., explore the gardens, stop by the visitors center’s shop, and check out the Remarkable Montgomery: Untold Stories exhibit.
- 7 pm – Settle in with your lawn chair or picnic blanket as the comedy show kicks off with a fantastic lineup of LGBTQIA+ comedians.


This event is intended for mature audiences ages 17 and up and is not recommended for viewers under 17. Viewer discretion is advised.
Wind down your workweek and ramp up your Pride celebrations with this outdoor comedy special that promises laughs, love, and community.

Comedian Line-Up

Jenny Cavallero – they/ them. Jenny is a disabled comedian and writer from Washington, DC. They’re a Staff Writer for the disability-humor site “The Squeaky Wheel” and host the monthly sober comedy show SELTZER at Binge Bar.
Yusuf Goal – he/ him. Yusuf is a DC based comedian that focuses on his unique upbringing and pop culture to have a fun time with the audience.


Kade Wonders – he/ him. Kades’ comedy is equal parts flippant, clever, and mostly goofy. They’re a regular host for Don’t Tell Comedy Richmond, and has performed at the Richmond Funnybone, DC Improv, DC Comedy Loft, and Vermont Comedy Festival. They’ve opened for headliners including Michael Yo, Alex Hooper, Natasha Vaynblat, Mark Brady and more.
Joe Yuke – he/ him. Joe is a DC-based comedian who enjoys visiting new places and connecting with strangers through jokes. Originally from California, he has performed all over the country at clubs such as Hotbed in DC, The Crow in LA, and Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in Minneapolis. On stage, Joe leverages his analytical personality and unique perspective to deliver witty observations about life, love, and silly internet trends. This has led him to open for headliners such as Chase O’Donnell, Jerry Rocha, and Max Higgins. Joe performs most frequently at Hotbed, Don’t Tell Comedy, and Capital Laughs in DC where he regularly hosts their weekend shows.


Patrice DeVeaux – she/ her. Patrice is a rising comedic powerhouse from Richmond, Virginia, known for her sharp wit, magnetic stage presence, and thought-provoking humor. With a style that blends clever observations, personal storytelling, and sharp social commentary, Patrice connects with audiences from all walks of life—delivering laughs with heart and insight. Her talent has taken her across the country and beyond, performing at iconic venues such as the Laugh Factory, the Comedy Store, the Apollo Theater in New York City, and the Olney Theatre Center. She has also brought her unique voice to international stages in the Netherlands, Paris, France, and Italy.
Patrice has shared the spotlight with comedy legends like Dave Attell, Tony Woods, Orlando Jones, Adele Givens, Hannibal Buress, and Mark Curry, earning praise for her versatility and undeniable stage presence. She was also featured on Kenan Thompson’s Ultimate Comedy Experience, further cementing her as one to watch in comedy.

- These events are free to attend, and registration is not required. Food and drink for purchase.
Alcohol Policy:
- Alcohol will be sold at this event and a valid form of identification is required for purchase. Outside alcohol is NOT permitted.
Accessibility:
- These parks and event spaces are generally accessible in accordance with the 2010 ADA Standards. There are wheelchair-accessible restrooms in the Conservatory and Visitor Center and an all-gender restroom located in the Visitor Center, next to the Children’s Classroom

- Restrooms are available in the Visitor Center. There are wheelchair-accessible restrooms in the Conservatory and Visitor Center and an all-gender restroom located in the Visitor Center, next to the Children’s Classroom

Parking:
- Visitors may park for free at the 1800 Glenallan Ave or 1500 Glenallan Ave entrances. Electric vehicle charging stations are available near the Visitor Center.
- Bicyclists may utilize the bike racks at the Ferngate pedestrian entrance at 1800 Glenallan Ave or, once inside the gardens grounds, they may walk their bike to the Visitor Center bike rack located near the overlook. Additionally, bike racks are available at the Pine Lake/Shorefield Gate in Wheaton Regional Park.
