Willard Avenue Neighborhood Park – Dog Park Plan

Project Description

In 2022, Montgomery Parks developed a concept for a dog park in Willard Avenue Neighborhood Park at the site of the park house at 5320 Willard Ave (Reynolds House). The improved park area would replace the existing house.

Background

Parks staff presented initial ideas for the dog park location and layout to the community on July 20, 2022. A virtual public comment period followed the meeting.

Status/Project Update

In the fall of 2022, the project was put on hold as Montgomery Parks prepares to determine the historic status of the house at 5320 Willard Avenue. In the interim, Parks is preparing the house for a new residential tenant.

Additional work is being done on the park and includes the upcoming demolition of two park houses at 4905 River Road and 5304 Willard Avenue. These properties are anticipated to be incorporated into the park in the fall of 2023.
