Project Overview
Sligo-Bennington Neighborhood Park, a 6.3-acre park in Silver Spring within the Sligo Creek stream valley, was acquired by M-NCPPC in 1932. The park features a playground, multiuse field, two tennis courts, a picnic area, and walking and biking trails. The existing playground, dating back to the 1990s, is heavily used and in need of replacement. This project will renovate the playground and introduce a nature play area to enhance recreational opportunities for the surrounding neighborhoods.
Status/Project Update
A community meeting was held on April 23, 2025, at which Montgomery Parks staff introduced the playground renovation project. Residents were encouraged to attend and participate in the online survey.
