Project Overview
Montgomery Parks knows that access to restrooms is a top priority for park visitors. That’s why we’ve launched an initiative to evaluate the current state of restroom access and operations across the park system, identify service gaps, and figure out ways to improve the park system’s restroom service.
Since 2024, Parks staff have been collecting data to evaluate the existing condition of park restrooms, including their physical state, operational status, and maintenance costs. This helps us identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Now, we need your help. We’ve launched a countywide survey so that you can tell us what matters most about restroom access in parks. The survey aims to understand patterns and barriers to restroom use to guide decisions on prioritizing restroom locations, features, and operations. Be sure to provide your feedback by April 19!
Status/Project Update
Montgomery Parks hosted two pop-up events – at Hillandale Local Park and Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Park – in fall 2025 to gather input on restrooms from park users.
Now, we’ve launched a survey that will be open through April 19. Please take the survey and share with your friends to help us improve Montgomery Parks restrooms, or visit us at one of our upcoming spring pop-ups to provide additional feedback!
Stay tuned for exact pop-up event dates and locations, which will be hosted at parks in March and April 2026.
