Laytonsville Local Park Playground Renovation

Old playground at Laytonsville Local Park

Project Description

Montgomery Parks is beginning the process of renovating the playground. The existing playground equipment is outdated and in disrepair. In addition, the playground safety surface is inundated with roots from adjacent trees. The playground renovation project will remove the existing play equipment and relocate the playground nearby to a safe location. New equipment for children ages 2 – 12 will be installed.

In addition to the new playground, some minor renovations to the park may occur. These may include resurfacing the basketball court and providing improved pedestrian and ADA accessibility.

Background

The 11.4-acre Laytonsville Local Park was acquired by M-NCPPC in 1968. Currently, the park includes a parking lot, playground, picnic shelter, basketball court, softball field, and soccer field.
