Let’s Get Moving
A vibrant new space for recreation and community connection is coming to downtown Bethesda! Conveniently located along the Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) and Montgomery Avenue (east of Pearl Street), this new park will provide a dynamic setting for outdoor enjoyment for all.
Background
The Eastern Capital Crescent Urban Greenway will be a destination for active recreation, as envisioned in the 2017 Bethesda Downtown Plan. With its direct connection to the Capital Crescent Trail, the Eastern Capital Crescent Urban Greenway will provide new amenities and trailside features.
Project Status
Montgomery Parks has acquired two properties for the park, with plans to incorporate an additional parcel currently being used for Purple Line construction access. As part of the next phase, studies are underway to determine interim uses for the site following the demolition of existing buildings. These efforts mark a significant step toward transforming the space into a vibrant recreational destination for the Bethesda community.
