Black Hill Discovery Center hosts many special events throughout the year.

MudFest 2026 | Saturday, June 13, 11 am to 3 pm | All Ages | $20 per car

Get down and dirty, jumping, slipping, and sliding in giant mud pits! Cook up a mud pie, make mud art, and play games! This muddy fun will be great for the whole family. This is a rain or shine event. The event is located at Woodstock Equestrian Park in Beallsville, MD.

Tickets are now available on ActiveMONTGOMERY.org. Tickets can also be purchased day-of on site, cash is preferred. Check out the MudFest webpage for more information about the event.

Witchy Paddle | Saturday, October 24, 4 pm to 7 pm | Ages 12 & Up | Free

Join us for our costumed paddle of Little Seneca Lake. Don your best witchy wear, bring your own boat, and meet up with other witches for a sunset paddle followed by a campfire, s’mores, and Acoustics and Ale. You must bring your own paddleboard, kayak, or canoe, and appropriate paddle, as well as safety gear and PFDs. Registration is required only for the Witchy Paddle. Acoustics and Ales does not require registration.
