WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks received top awards for creative marketing campaigns including Sligo Creek Fest and the Wheaton Action Sports Park at the 2024 MarCom Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals (AMCP). The department also received top honors from the Maryland Recreation and Parks Association (MRPA) at its Annual Showcase Awards in Glenn Dale, Md., on October 23, 2024.
Montgomery Parks received the highest MarCom honor, a Platinum award for the Sligo Creek Fest marketing campaign, and two Gold awards for t-shirt design and video production. The department also received Honorable Mentions for social video and content, website design, and a magazine article about the department’s recent skatepark campaign.
The MarCom Awards honor excellence in marketing and communications while recognizing the creativity, hard work, and generosity of industry professionals and is one of the largest, most-respected, creative competitions in the world. Each year about 6,500 print and digital entries are submitted from dozens of countries.
In addition, Montgomery Parks earned Best Photo and Best Social Media awards from the MRPA Annual Showcase Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation from park and recreation departments across the region.
