WHEATON, Md. — The Springsong Museum, a nonprofit organization, is seeking to fund and build a museum honoring Rachel Carson, a pioneering writer, biologist, and Silver Spring resident. The museum will be located at Burnt Mills East Park, a serene setting adjacent to the Northwest Branch Trail, and will repurpose the existing historic 1929 WSSC water filtration facility building.

As planning gets underway, Montgomery Parks invites the public to learn more about the project by watching a video presentation and sharing input via a short online survey. Public input will help shape the project’s future by informing the vision and priorities of the potential partnership.
Take the survey and share your ideas: MoCoParks.org/Springsongsurvey
The survey will remain open through August 15, 2025.
