WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks is offering some new camping options at Little Bennett Campground, a full-service campground at Little Bennett Regional Park so that anyone can go camping – whether you are an experienced pro, or it is your first time. Three new canvas tent sites have just been added at the campground; each site includes a tent, two camp chairs, a propane stove, a lantern, a picnic table, a fire ring with a grill top, and an electrical outlet.

“Little Bennett Campground has camping options for everyone. The new canvas tent sites offer the best of both worlds: the rustic charm of camping with the convenience of modern comforts, so you can spend more time exploring and less time setting up,” said Laura Favin, assistant manager at Little Bennett Campground.

In addition to the new canvas tent sites, Little Bennett Campground has full hook-up sites for people with RVs, as well as yurts, cabins, and a group camping area that accommodates groups with as many as 60 campers. The campground spans 3,700 acres of forest and meadows with more than 25 miles of trails for hiking and biking. Bathhouses with sinks, showers, toilets, and drinking fountains are within walking distance of each campsite. Staff offer a variety of weekend activities from April through November.

There is a two-night minimum for all reservations. Campers may enjoy a maximum of 14 nights on all camping loops. Bathhouses are closed from November through March.

One of the highlights of camping is gathering around the fire after a day of exploring. Many campgrounds now offer designated areas for safe and enjoyable campfires, making evenings more memorable. Having a fire pit with grill at your site takes the experience up a notch—whether it’s roasting marshmallows, cooking up a hearty meal, or simply sitting back to enjoy the glow of the flames, it adds both comfort and functionality to your stay.

Some campsites even allow visitors to bring their own setups, giving flexibility for those who love cooking outdoors. A well-placed fire pit not only keeps campers warm on cool nights but also creates a natural hub for conversation and relaxation. It’s the kind of simple addition that turns a regular camping trip into a cozy, shared adventure filled with good food and lasting memories.
