Learn about the why, how, and when of pruning a variety of plants in the garden.

GreenScapes: Innovative Designs from the Field February 16 | 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Brookside Gardens Live Zoom Event
GreenScapes is an annual program sponsored by Brookside Gardens since 2004. The symposium explores the latest topics related to landscape sustainability and the environment. This year’s theme is “Innovative Designs from The Field.” Join industry experts as they share practical and scalable lessons on sustainable design and maintenance strategies from the field to help take your home garden or professional work to the next level. 55+ Nature Single’s Mingle February 17 | 5–7 p.m.
Black Hill Discovery Center, 20926 Lake Ridge Drive, Boyds
Join other mature singles to unwind and socialize with craft mocktails and snacks while enjoying the 2024 Duck Stamp gallery, unique nature displays and outdoor deck showcasing Black Hill Regional Park. Who knows, you might meet your own Golden Bachelor or Bachelorette or make a new friend! Register for 55+ Nature Singles Mingle. $25 per person.
Socials for 55+: Maple Sugaring Walk February 29 | 2–3 p.m.
Brookside Nature Center, 1400 Glenallan Avenue, Wheaton
Hike with a naturalist to the Maple Grove and learn how sugar sap is collected and transformed into maple syrup. We will provide coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Register for Socials for 55+. $7 per person.
