Bring your besties and your skates to Montgomery Parks in February

Make this Valentine’s Day the 1 to remember. Are you ready for it? Grab your skates, your besties, and your favorite Swiftie and join us for Valentine’s Skate (Parks’ Version)—a free outdoor roller-skating event that’s giving Lover vibes all day long.

When: Saturday, February 8, 11 AM – 2 PM
Where: Ridge Road Recreational Skate Rink
What to expect:
- All Ages, All Couples, All Levels
- Free Skating: The Era’s Tour may be over, but guests can enjoy roller-skating on the inline rink for free while DJ Joe plays your favorite songs. Attendees must bring their own skates; rentals will not be provided at the event.

This isn’t just another Valentine’s event—it’s your chance to live out your own Love Story. When taking a break from skating, guests can fuel up with a hot chocolate or tasty lunch from Catalyst Hot Dogs, lounge on the lawn, or play lawn games with friends and family. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets for seating. Outside food is permitted.

Cost:: This event is free to attend and registration is not required. Food and drink for purchase.
Parking:: Parking will be available on-site in designated Montgomery Parks lots.
Public Transportation:: Please use the #73 or #75 bus to Frederick Rd & Milestone Manor Ln (Stop ID: 28794).
Restrooms:: On-site restroom facilities will be available in the rink house.
Accessibility:: Ridge Road Recreational Park is Generally Accessible in accordance with the 2010 Standard ADA Guidelines. If you or a member of your party need further accessibility accommodations for this event, please contact the Montgomery Parks Program Access office via email ProgramAccess@montgomeryparks.org or phone (301) 495-2581.
Pets:: Pets are allowed at the event but must be kept on a leash while on park property. Pets are NOT allowed on the rink. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and disposing of waste in the proper receptacles.
What to Bring:: Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and/or lawn chair for seating. Skaters must bring their own skates. Era costumes are encouraged.
Weather:: If this event is cancelled due to inclement weather, there will not be a rain date.

Roller Rink Rules:

We strongly urge all skaters to wear protective gear
Be considerate of fellow skaters
Skate in the direction of other skaters, do not go against the flow of skate traffic
No food or drink allowed on the rink
Skateboards, scooters, strollers, bikes, push toys, etc. are not permitted on the rink
No racing, playing tag, or throwing objects on the rink
Skates must be properly strapped to skater’s feet
Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult on the rink
Children may not be carried by someone wearing skates
Shoes are prohibited on the rink unless accompanying a child
All skaters are skating at their own risk
No use after dark
No jump structures allowed
No use when surface is wet/standing water
All other M-NCPPC rules and regulations apply
