Meaningful Day: Therapeutic Recreation: Archaeology

Join Program Access and the Montgomery Parks Cultural Resources team for a special day learning about archaeology! Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, along with their friends, families, and community members, will learn about archaeology in Montgomery County and have the opportunity to process and clean artifacts. The artifacts are primarily quartz tools and chipped stone from a Middle to Late Archaic archaeology site in Montgomery County, dating approximately 3-5,000 years old. This program will take place in Needwood Mansion, which is not yet ADA accessible. Participants will need to be able to use stairs to participate in the program. Please contact Program Access at programaccess@montgomeryparks.org for more information on accessibility needs and accommodations.
