Come and explore the fascinating history of clothing on the farm! Students will discover what types of clothing were worn throughout history to tackle the tough tasks of farming, from work boots to overalls, and learn how practical garments were designed to withstand hard labor. Students will get hands-on experience by learning about historical laundry practices on the farm and how washing clothes was done before modern conveniences. We’ll also delve into the history of the enslaved people who lived and worked on the farm, examining what they wore and how it differed from the clothing of free farmers.
