Heritage Days at Josiah Henson Museum and Park

Each year, Heritage Montgomery hosts Heritage Days on the last weekend of June. This year marks the 27th annual Heritage Days weekend – a countywide festival offering programs, activities, and tours appealing to visitors of all ages and interests.

Heritage Days at Josiah Henson Museum and Park

Tour the Josiah Henson Museum. Learn about the extraordinary life of Rev. Josiah Henson, formerly enslaved on the Riley plantation in Rockville, whose autobiography inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe’s ctional novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

Montgomery Parks historic sites particpating in Heritage Days include:

Saturday June 27

Woodlawn Museum at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park 10am to 4pm.

Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park – 12pm to 4pm

Sunday June 28

Josiah Henson Museum and Park – 12pm to 4pm

Thomas Harper Cabin at Brookside Nature Center – 1pm to 4pm.
