Educator Workshop: Data and Art Together in the Classroom

If you are middle or high school teacher looking for ways to integrate art and visualizations into your existing data-driven science curriculum, this is the workshop for you. This free, virtual professional development session is led by Jill Pelto, expert artist and science communicator. In addition to incorporating data directly into paintings to engage broad audiences using climate and conservation graphs, Jill’s work is valuable to educators who want to maintain rigorous scientific standards in their classroom and empower students to tell their “data story” in an appealing way.
She will provide useful tools, resources and ideas for how to use data-driven art projects with students tomorrow, either inside or out. This session is not for children; rather, it is a workshop for educators who routinely work with children. This session counts towards the professional development requirement for the MAEOE Green School Application.
