EmBARK on a tree climbing adventure into the treetops, reach out and touch the trees. This hands-on course for teens offers a unique opportunity to learn the basics of ropes, how to tie basic knots, proper techniques to ascend ropes, and safety equipment used for tree climbing. Take time to talk with the professionals and learn how this can be a career path.
*NOTE: Proper clothing is required. Participants must wear long pants and sturdy athletic shoes. Hiking boots covering the ankle are preferred, sneakers are fine except hiking boots or low hiking shoes work best. The arborists will have gloves available for use or bring a pair of fitted gloves If you prefer to use your own. Tree climbing is physically demanding, Participants must be able to get up and down from a mat and support themselves. Drink plenty of water the night before the climb and bring water and snack along to the climb. Registration is required. No walk-in accepted. Spectators, please bring a lawn chair.
