Join us for a van trip to local and regional natural sites. We may go hiking, visit native gardens, go birding, or visit interesting cultural and historical sites. Trips vary in length but are always done in small groups by van.
Celebrate “National Hike Day” by going for a hike at Wye Island Natural Resources Management Area in Queen Anne’s County. We’ll travel by van to the Eastern Shore to explore the trails located around the island. Schoolhouse Woods Nature trail takes you through an old growth forest, while the Holly Tree Trail goes to a nearby 300-year-old holly tree. Other trails take you beneath a beautiful canopy of Osage orange trees leading to the Wye River. The natural surface trails are generally flat. Bring a bagged lunch, water, bug spray, sunscreen, and hiking shoes. Meet at Black Hill Discovery Center. FOBH $48
