Shake off your “Sunday Scaries” and replace them with Sunday Serenades.
On September 29 at Cabin John Regional Park’s Amphitheater (7400 Tuckerman Ln, Bethesda, MD 20817), join Montgomery Parks from 10 am to 11:30 am for a Sunday Serenade event—live music to be performed by Redmond, Langosch, Cooley.
These events are for all ages. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own snacks, blankets, and lawn chairs. Invite your friends and family and make it a picnic in the park. Local food vendor Ella’s Bake Shop will be on-site selling breakfast snack items. Start your week off right by relaxing on the lawn and listening to live music at Sunday Serenade.

About the Artists
Mary Ann Redmond is an American singer known for her soulful and wide-ranging vocal style in popular and jazz music. She is based in the greater metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, but has performed in many locations across the United States and other countries. Both her live performances and 5 full length album releases to date have earned her acclaim from audiences and recognition from the music industry, although she has never achieved national fame on a par with many of the performers she has worked with, such as Mary Chapin Carpenter. She is primarily a regional artist and has won an astounding 24 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies).
Paul Langosch (Bass) began his studies in double bass with Albert Webster of the National Symphony and later continued private lessons with William Vaughn, also of the National Symphony. He began his college studies at Montgomery College School of Music in Rockville, Maryland, and then attended American University in Washington, D.C., in addition to the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Paul has worked with many of the leaders in the jazz world including Phil Woods, Tal Farlow, Al Cohn, Mose Allison, Johnny Hartman, Bud Shank, Zoot Sims, Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis. His touring credits include John Hendricks, George Shearing, Rosemary Clooney, Mel Torme, Susanna McCorkle and Conte Candoli.
Jay Cooley (Piano) studied music at Montgomery College School of Music in Rockville, Maryland, and Catholic University School of Theory and Composition. Jay’s career has included appearances with Charlie Byrd, Phil Wood, Keter Betts, Chuck Redd, Ethel Ennis, Ernestine Anderson and Lennie Cuje. His career highlights also include that of musical director and guest accompanist for many musicians. In addition, Jay is an accomplished composer and has worked extensively with The Bruce Swaim Quartet with many of his original works. Jay has performed at The Kennedy Center, Blues Alley, Strathmore Hall, The National Gallery of Arts, along with countless jazz festivals and concert series.
