About the Community Garden Program

The Community Garden Program aims to create positive environmental, economic, social, and aesthetic impacts in the community by providing Montgomery County residents with parkland for local food and flower production. Since 2009, the Program has grown to 14 community garden locations with over 550 plots. Join us and transform strangers into friends and neighborhoods into communities!

As part of the community, gardeners agree to:

  • Read and follow the Conditions of Use.
  • Join the communication listserv for their garden location.
  • Be active participants in the community.
  • Contribute eight communal service hours, annually.
  • Perform garden maintenance tasks as directed by the Parks Volunteer Garden Liaisons in each garden.
