Pontoon Boat Programs
All aboard! Come explore Little Seneca Lake up close by taking a cruise on Black Hill Discovery Center’s pontoon boat.
BHDC offers pontoon tours for private groups and public programs with various themes.
Private Group Pontoon Tour:
Private tours are about an hour long and can be booked from May to October, from 8 am to sunset, subject to staff availability. Staff are most available on weekdays before 6 pm. The boat holds a maximum of 20 people, and the total cost is $150. Reservations must be made no later than 2 weeks in advance. To book, email blackhillnature@montgomeryparks.org or call 301.528.3489. The boat has an accessible entry ramp suitable for wheelchairs. Children under age 6 must wear a life jacket. There are no restrooms on the boat.
Public Pontoon Programs:
Black Hill Discovery Center offers pontoon programs for the public from late April to early November. Popular programs include Bats & Beavers, Early Morning Pontoon Rides, Storytime on the Lake, and Afternoons on the Pontoon. To see more information and to register, visit ActiveMontgomery.org.
