Prose in the Park

This spring, Prose in the Park offered a relaxing morning of books, coffee, music, and fresh air. Guests slowed down, unplugged, and enjoyed a peaceful time surrounded by nature and good stories.

When: Sunday, April 12th, 2026, from 9 am to 12 pm

Prose in the Park invited guests to:

  • Bring a favorite read or discover a new one
  • Enjoy children’s story times at 10 am and 11 am with author Joan Waites
  • Relax with live acoustic music from Jennifer Schimpf, creating a peaceful, easygoing vibe
  • Sip coffee and enjoy pastries from Travelin’ Tom’s and Praline Bakery

The vendors: 

  • Wonderland Books – offered a variety of titles for purchase.
  • Montgomery County Public Library – offered book-based programming, activities, and library card sign-ups 

Join us next year and bring a favorite read, spread out a blanket, sip something warm, and settle in for a relaxing start to your day in the park. Whether you stay for a single chapter or the whole morning, Prose in the Park is all about making space to pause and enjoy nature, books, and good music all at your own pace.
