Celebrate fall at Montgomery Parks Harvest Festival 

WHEATON, Md. – Join Montgomery Parks for a day of crafts, music, and food at the annual Harvest Festival, which will be held at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, Maryland. 

What:    Harvest Festival 
When:   Saturday, October 4, 2025 | 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Where:  Agricultural History Farm Park 
18400 Muncaster Road, Derwood, MD 20855 
Cost:     $20 per car, cash only  

“Harvest Festival is a great way for visitors to try hands-on activities that are fun and will teach them about traditional farm life,” said Trenda Davidson, site manager of the Agricultural History Farm Park. “We are hoping people will come enjoy the activities, purchase refreshments from local food vendors and make a day of it.” 

Harvest Festival Activities 

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police will be on-site, showcasing public safety programs. Visitors will see mounted patrol officers demonstrate equestrian skills and watch the K9 unit in action with tracking and detection demonstrations.

About the Agricultural History Farm Park 
Located on 455 acres, the Agricultural History Farm Park preserves Montgomery County’s rich farming heritage. Originally owned by the Magruder family and later the Bussard family, the property features historic buildings like the Bank Barn and Farmhouse, offering a glimpse into early 20th century farm life. Today, the Agricultural History Farm Park serves as a museum and educational hub, hosting programs and events that highlight traditional agricultural practices. The park also supports community education through partnerships with the University of Maryland Extension Master Gardener Program for Montgomery County, the Friends of the Agricultural History Farm Park, and the National Capital Dahlia Society demonstration garden.
