Introduction to Power & Energy: Power Up: An Introduction to Power and Energy

Get ready to spark your young inventor’s curiosity in this exciting, hands-on workshop all about power and energy! Students will dive into the world of renewable energy through fun experiments and challenges. We’ll start by exploring what energy is and where it comes from, then zoom in on the sun – our most powerful energy source. Students will discover how solar panels work, how we turn sunlight into electricity, and why solar energy is important for our planet. Through interactive activities like learning about electricity and building their own solar-powered gadgets, students will learn key concepts like energy transfer, circuits, and sustainability. We’ll also explore real-life uses of solar energy and imagine what a solar-powered future could look like. By the end of the workshop, students will leave empowered with new knowledge, creative ideas, and a mini solar project they can take home! Materials fee included.

*NOTE: Class is held in the Glenmont Local Park Activity Building located on park grounds. Registration is required. No walk-ins will be accepted.
