Hiking at Great Falls
When MCPS is out of school, why not have your teen join us for an outdoor adventure! In this series, we’ll hike, kayak, and bike our way through some of the most interesting nature locales in our area! All programs begin and end at Maydale Nature Classroom and transportation is provided to and from each location. Sign up for one or all of the programs!
Join us as we climb the cliffs of Great Falls along Section A of the Billy Goat Trail. Along the way, we’ll take in views of the Potomac River and the local flora and fauna. This trail is quite strenuous and includes rocky terrain and boulder scrambles. Please wear sturdy hiking boots, bring plenty of water, and pack a lunch and snack. Total hiking distance will be about five miles.
