Athletic Field Donation Policy Project

Turf baseball batting cage

Project Description

Montgomery Parks is developing an Athletic Field Donation Policy that establishes a clear, consistent process for groups and individuals interested in donating funds for athletic field improvements. The policy will define donation requirements, review criteria, and implementation processes to ensure transparency.

Background

Montgomery Parks previously operated an unsolicited partnership program that allowed groups to submit proposals for potential partnerships in park improvement projects. Each proposal required staff review to confirm that it provided a clear public benefit. However, the open-ended nature of the program created challenges for both applicants and Montgomery Parks staff. The proposed Athletic Field Donation Policy is intended to provide a more streamlined, transparent, and standardized approach to evaluating and accepting donations for athletic field improvements.

Project Status

Montgomery Parks staff are currently reviewing and revising an internal draft of the policy.  Once the draft is finalized, it will be released for public review and comment before being presented for approval.
