Guided Hike on the Underground Railroad Experience Trail | August 5 and 19 | 10-11:30 a.m.
Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park, 16501 Norwood Road, Sandy Spring
Learn about the experience of 19th-century freedom seekers and Montgomery County residents on a guided hike. Discover techniques used for navigation, eluding detection, and finding food and shelter on the perilous journey. Hike is two miles on natural surface hiking trail and not ADA accessible. Ages 7 and older. Registration required. $8 (fee charged for 6 and older, includes admission to Woodlawn Museum).
Kingsley Schoolhouse Tour | August 6 | 1-4 p.m.

This historic one-room schoolhouse served children in the rural farming community of Frog Hollow from 1893 to 1935. All ages. Free.

Adaptive Paddling | August 11 | 4-7 p.m.
Seneca Landing Special Park (Riley’s Lock), 16316 Old River Road, Poolesville
Enjoy an inclusive evening on the water with our new Adaptive Paddling Program in partnership with Team River Runner. This program is designed for individuals with disabilities and their family or friends and provides an accessible and accommodating experience. Trained staff or volunteers will accompany you on the water to ensure a safe and enjoyable program. Please register the individual with a disability and indicate the number of guests accompanying them during the registration process. Participants will be contacted prior to the program to discuss specific modifications necessary to ensure your success on the water. Registration required. Free. The Wheaton Arts Parade (WAP) Pyramids Art Exhibition is back by popular demand. Meet the artists and organizers for a guided walk through the Gardens to learn more about the striking pieces of public art from9–10 a.m. Later, join the artists in a nature-inspired art activity and chalk art in the Garden from 10 a.m.– 12 p.m. Registration required for guided tour and arts and craft activity. Never Grow Up: Social for 55+ | August 23 | 10–11:30 a.m.

Come out and play at Montgomery Parks! Spend time outdoors sipping coffee or tea, playing games, sharing stories and laughs with friends old and new. This session you’ll enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. Participate in some friendly competition with a variety of classic lawn games, such as horseshoes and cornhole. Registration required. Free.
Foodie Fridays: The People’s Medicine | August 25 | 6:30 –8:30 p.m.
Josiah Henson Museum and Park, 11410 Old Georgetown Road, North Bethesda
Plants have been used in medicine for thousands of years. This edition features Rhiannon Smith, founder of Takoma Park-based Kiyoshi Botanicals who will discuss the intersection between traditional and holistic wellness practices, land stewardship and home herbalism. Ages 21 and older. Registration required. Registration includes light refreshments and one alcoholic drink, as well as admission to Josiah Henson Museum ($5 value), redeemable during regular museum hours. $10.
