W.A.N.D.E.R. (Women And Non-binary individuals Deepening their Environmental Relationships) Fire starting is an important (and fun!) outdoor skill to have. In this hands-on class, you will learn several fire-starting strategies that you can use whether you’re camping, backpacking, in a survival situation, or just in your own backyard. You will then have opportunities to put these new skills to the test by foraging for natural materials and practicing these different fire-starting methods. This workshop is designed to empower participants of all levels in learning and practicing outdoor skills. No experience required; beginners are welcome. Each participant will take home a fire-starting kit. Please register in advance and dress for the weather as we will be outside for the majority of the program.
