Step into the past and discover history in a fun, immersive way with Junior Historians! This program series is designed for ages 5-8, and invites young learners to explore history through interactive activities and playful discovery. Each session combines historical learning with practical, hands-on activities that bring history to life. Each class will cover a different theme, with a special emphasis on the Farm Park’s unique history, encouraging children to learn by touching, trying, and experiencing real tools, techniques, and traditions from long ago. Your child will leave with a richer understanding of history and a greater appreciation for the simple joys of farm life.
Step back in time and discover what the holiday season really looked like for Americans throughout history, and especially for the families who called Farm Park home! From simple frontier holiday seasons filled with homemade decorations and family traditions to the festive celebrations of the 19th century, students will uncover how Americans celebrated, what they ate, how they decorated, and where some of our favorite traditions began. Through fascinating stories, hands-on activities, and old-fashioned holiday crafts, kids won’t just learn about this season’s past – they’ll experience it! Each student will even create their own traditional holiday crafts to take home. Come make some history, make some memories, and discover the magic of the past!
This is a drop off program, but parents are welcome to stay during the class. Please be sure to dress for the weather and bring water.
