The Journey to Freedom statue by artist Wesley Wofford will be on display at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park throughout the day until 4pm.
The nine-foot-tall, 2,200-pound bronze sculpture of Harriet Tubman depicts the legendary self-liberator as she guides a child to freedom on the perilous Underground Railroad.
Woodlawn Museum is the first stop in Maryland for the statue that is accompanying Montgomery County historian Tony Cohen on his #FreedomWalk2026. This historic 750-mile Underground Railroad pilgrimage will take place May to July, beginning in Maryland and ending in Ontario, Canada.
Explore the Woodlawn Museum with free self-guided tours from 12p to 4p. Check in at the Visitor Center when you arrive.
