Discover the joy of creating with Hands-On History! In this dynamic program, kids will dive into the skills and crafts of the past as they explore a variety of traditional hands-on activities. From wood carving and leather working to paper making, basket weaving and more, each session offers a new opportunity for young crafters to learn, create and connect with history in a tangible way. Guided by engaging instructors, participants will gain confidence as they work with real tools and materials – experiencing firsthand how everyday items were crafted long before modern technology. Each session brings a fresh project and a chance to explore a different historical technique.
Come explore history through this hands-on rug making program! Students will learn how people in the past created sustainable and creative household items. Using recycled textiles, students will create unique rugs, while exploring the skills, creativity, and practicality that have been used in home crafting for centuries.
This is a drop-off program, but parents are welcome to hang around the Farm Park during the class. Please remember to bring water and dress for the activity – some may get messy!
