Explore A Park: Royce Hanson Conservation Park

Today we’ll explore Royce Hanson Conservation Park, one of the newest parks in the Montgomery Parks system. Created to protect the Broad Run watershed and its unique geology, rare plants and wildlife, and diverse habitats, the 475-acre park offers five miles of scenic trails designed for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and nature observation. Other amenities include picnic areas, gathering spaces, and an outdoor classroom that integrates the park’s natural and cultural features as well as two fishing ponds.
