Community Exhibit: Altar del Día de Los Muertos

Across the Americas, people commemorate loved ones with offerings of their favorite foods, objects, and stories. This ceremony observes the interconnectedness of life and death, a natural cycle experienced by all forms of life. Through October 27th and November 3rd, Meadowside Nature Center welcomes offerings (“ofrenda”) in a community exhibit discussing cycles of rest and renewal, and cultural traditions that celebrate death as a universal experience.

Registration is not required. Guests may come anytime during open hours to place copies of photographs, objects, flowers and plants, artwork, and non-perishable foods in sealed containers on the altar. The community exhibit will be open to the public; please provide objects that can be left at the nature center.
