Cleanup at Cloverly Loop Trail with Sierra Club Maryland Chapter

Let’s learn about watershed health and make a difference in Montgomery County!

Join the Sierra Club and Montgomery Parks for a Watershed Cleanup Outing at Cloverly Local Park and Cloverly Loop Trail in Silver Spring, MD. We will walk about half of a mile and clean up trash in the area for around one and a half hours. At this cleanup we will discuss best recycling practices within Montgomery County, the history of land owned by Montgomery Parks, and how picking up trash and other litter can make a difference within your local watershed. The terrain along Cloverly Loop Trail is level. We will be wading into vegetated areas in order to extract trash. This cleanup is best for people over 12 who can walk through lightly vegetated areas. Pets must be able to behave in a group of strangers and stay on the trail and on leash at all times. Owners must clean up after pets. Park facilities including restrooms are reliably free to use.

Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If minors would like to volunteer without a parent or guardian, please contact volunteercleanups@montgomeryparks.org to request a minor release form.
