The ramp to Brookside Nature Center and building sign.

Hello! Today I am going to camp at Brookside Nature Center!

I have packed my bag with everything I need. I have:

A water bottle

Digital drawing of white and green sneakers

Close-toed shoes

A graphic of a stick figure trying on a jacket and a t-shirt shorts and pants drawn next to it

Clothes that can get dirty

A digital drawing of a peanut with a red circle and line through it

A nut free lunch and snack

Sunscreen

The bottom of brookside nature center steps with the welcome sign to the right that has the location name and hours of the building
Glass door with silver metal framing and the name of the building in the center of the door with the hours below it

When I get to camp, I walk up the steps or use the ramp to get to the front door of the nature center.

My adult checks me in at the front desk, making sure I have everything I need.

bathroom sink with mirror above it

If I have to use the bathroom, I can go with my adult before they check me into camp.

When I come inside, I find the cubby with my name and put my bag in it. Then I get a name tag.

If it’s not time for camp to start yet, I can do an activity while I wait. I have the choice to do something like read a book or play a game with other campers.

We have a morning meeting on the auditorium carpet. We say hello, learn the rules, and hear the plan for the day.

On Monday, we will practice an emergency drill by walking to the pond.

I will eat all my snacks and lunch outside

Each day of camp, we have different fun activities! Here are some of the things I may do:

A deer standing in a field.

Go for hikes and search for animals

Meet an animal at the nature center

Explore the creek

We will go outside to the Nature Exploration Area to play. There are a lot of activities for me to do here with my new friends

And more !

After all our adventures for the day we will have a snack on the rocks outside while we wait for our adults to come and sign us out of camp.

Camp Expectations

When I’m at camp, I will make sure to:

Follow directions so I stay safe

Stay with a counselor or group at all times

Leave nature where I find it. We only touch what a counselor says is safe, and we put everything back

Stay on the trails. To help us stay safe, we need to, “Look down, stay on the brown!”

Have a fun and safe week at camp!
